Jr. Wizards Summer Camps

Important Update on Summer 2020

May 15, 2020

Parents / Guardians

We hope this note finds you and your family in good health during these challenging times.

It is with great disappointment that I inform you we will be canceling our Jr. Wizards Summer Basketball Camp sessions through the end of July.  As much as we love hosting our summer camps, we understand the importance of a community effort in containing COVID-19.

This will impact the following camp sessions:

  • June 15 – Sterling, VA – Hoops Plus
  • June 22 – Boyds, MD – Maryland Soccerplex
  • June 22 – Fredericksburg, VA - Mary Washington University
  • July 6 – Sterling, VA – Hoops Plus
  • July 6 – La Plata, MD – College of Southern Maryland
  • July 6 – Baltimore, MD – The Park School of Baltimore
  • July 13 – Washington, DC – American University
  • July 20 – Washington, DC – American University
  • July 27 – Middleburg, VA – Foxcroft School
  • July 27 – Severn, MD – Annapolis Area Christian School

A decision will be made for camp sessions scheduled for the month of August by June 15.

Full refunds will begin rolling out for June and July sessions beginning on Wednesday May 20. While we anticipate that most refunds will be processed within the next week, certain refunds may take up to a month to be finalized – including any refunds which are 70+ days old or older, or that were made with a credit card account which is now closed (note – if your expiration date changed, or if your credit card provider sent you a new card for the same account, this should not impact your refund). We are working with our database provider, SportsEngine, to make this process as quick and painless as possible.

You may also leave your payment on account as a credit towards Summer 2021. Anyone who chooses to do so will guarantee their spot in camp for 2021 at our lowest camp rate. If the amount you paid ends up being less than the lowest camp rate for 2021, we will refund you the difference.  If you’re interested in this option, please let us know by Tuesday May 19.

As our physical offices remain closed – please direct any questions to the following email address – This inbox is monitored between normal business hours – 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., Monday to Friday.

In the meantime please be sure to visit for activities your child can do at home to stay active – including Wizards Workout Wednesdays; a new 30 minute workout session from Coach Scott Brooks and his staff.  We are also actively working to create additional digital content for the summer months.

Thank you for your continued support of the Washington Wizards and Jr. Wizards Summer Camps. We hope to see everyone back on the court soon.

Be safe.
